Stockyards

The cattle drives that gave Fort Worth it’s nickname and distinctive aroma are long gone, but the flavor of the Old West lives on in the Stockyards. It is the only place in the United States that has a daily cattle drive! Texas Longhorns are driven down East Exchange Avenue which is right in the heart of the Stockyards. For the history buff, museums and historic locations are plentiful to learn about great history, from cowboys to cattle. Along the way, keep your eye out for the Texas Trail of Fame bronze makers in the sidewalks throughout the district.

The Fort Worth Historic Stockyards is home to many great stores to pick up something special. Does fine western wear suit your taste? Do you want to take home a world famous hat? If you are looking for a special gift for a special person, find dozens of unique shops both on the main streets or tucked away off the path.

If the nightlife is the only life for you, then the Fort Worth Stockyards are just where you need to be. Billy Bob's Texas is the world's largest honky-tonk, but there are other places to scoot your boots as well. Also in the Stockyards, you can find Texas or Tejano music to dance to or just have a beer and listen.

Museums

In the Fort Worth Cultural District, you can walk to five spectacular museums in a beautiful park-like setting - including the Kimbell Art Museum, the Amon Carter Museum, and the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Be sure to make time for a show at the downtown's acoustically perfect Bass Performance Hall, too. It’s located within a few blocks of the Hilton and hosts a wide range of special performances.

Other great museum venues located in Fort Worth include the newly-renovated Fort Worth Museum of Science and History with its own IMAX theater, the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.
